Topic: Jesus The Way To The Father
Text: John 14-1-14 (New Living Translations)
1 Jesus, the Way to the Father “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.
2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home.If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
7 If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.”
9 Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?
10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.
11 Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.
12 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father..
14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
What "troubles" you today? How does troubles affect your life? In your work?to people surrounds you? like your family?your relationships? your businesses? etc.... It sounds familiar, Isn't it? In fact, everyday we face troubles; like; 1) money not enough, 2) other people put you down, 3) disappointments, 4) discouragements and many other forms..Whether like it or not its just natural to have and if you are experiencing troubles, congratulation you are consider "human" . Back to the passage, actually in the preceeding chapter13 (please read it) Jesus conversation to His disciple regarding His death, who will betray him and a many more. Knowing that Jesus is 100% God and 100% human. In human form, Jesus also experienced troubles but as God in this chapter (14) He is now encouraging them (His Disciples) to stay calm. Jesus also started talking and describing about our Father in Heaven ( God's love, plan, gift, joy, peace and many more).The same principle that is applicable to us (our life) today.
Whatever situations in your life that you are experiencing now. For example; 1) cannot get along with others because of some reason or the other way, 2) overdues project and bills that triggers stress in your work and family. 3) longing for somebody ( husband/s, wife/ves, parent/s, friend/s and others. Over all we cannot find peace of mind and heart. Be joyful and awake! You need Jesus Christ to help you, learn and act to believe and trust our Lord. Is a choice! whether you want to continue experiencing troubles or new peace that is only found in Jesus Christ our God and Savior ! I encourage you to decide today with the heart of FAITH.
Personal Prayer:
Loving Father in Heaven, thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to save me. I pray that God help me to cope and rejoice in times of trouble.Lord Jesus I ask for peace and comfort from You. That You O lord make all my troubles as a stepping stone to a successful life in this generation. Protect my heart from disappoinment, discouragement, sefl-pity, negativism and other things that satan's use in putting down myself. Put into my heart a reselient spirit. Give me strength in everyday of my life.. Lord I offer you my life, in Jesus name I pray, Amen!
